Summer of Chocolate
Posted on Monday, July 28th, 2014 at 4:09 pm.In this post, my colleague, Molly Dillon, shares her experience during her recent trip to San Francisco.
How does spending your summer surrounded by delicious chocolate, the breezy Pacific, and the bustling city of San Francisco sound?
For Ecaterina, a Summer Work Travel participant from Romania, that sounded like the perfect way to spend a few months of her summer break. Ecaterina lives within walking distance of the Original Ghirardelli Chocolate Manufactory, which makes for an easy and enjoyable commute to work. Being surrounded by chocolate five times a week is tempting, so the walk to work also comes in handy to burn off any extra calories! This is Ecaterina’s second year on the Summer Work Travel program, and this time she came prepared to maximize her time in the United States. “I set up a Facebook group for all the Romanians through my sponsor who were going to be in San Francisco so we could get to know each other”, explained Ecaterina. This not only allowed them to connect with each other and share information, but they could also become familiar with a few friendly faces as soon as they arrived.
