Dear Summer Work Travel Sponsors:
This is to inform you that as of January 1, 2018, the Department will update the way the Designated Sponsor Organizations list is populated on the Exchange Visitor Program website. Currently, the Department pulls a monthly report of active sponsors from the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), which includes the Business Address, Website URL, and Telephone Number of the Responsible Officer for each organization. If a sponsor is approved for multiple designations, the Exchange Visitor Program website includes a separate listing for each designation.
Effective January 1st, if the sponsor’s profile contains a Telephone Number in the General Contact Information section in SEVIS, the Department will use that number as the Telephone Number for the organization on the Exchange Visitor Program website. If the sponsor’s profile does not contain a Telephone Number in the General Contact section, the Department will continue to use the telephone number listed for the Responsible Officer.
If your organization does not have a telephone number listed in the General Contact section, we encourage you to access SEVIS, click your sponsor name, and then click the link on the left of the sponsor profile titled “Update Program Sponsor Information”. On the “Update Program Sponsor Information” page, enter a Telephone Number in Section 4 - General Contact Information. See highlighted area below.
