DESCRIPTION:Morning Presentation: \nPresented by Morgan Young \nWisconsin DOJ—Office of Crime Victim Services \nAs awareness about Human Trafficking increases\, our understanding of the nuances involved in effectively responding to this crime has become more sophisticated. This session will review the dynamics of Human Trafficking and what is happening at the state policy level to incorporate our increasing understanding of this issue. \nAfternoon Panel Presentation: \nPresented by members of Sheboygan County’s Trafficking Task Force \nDeanna Grundl—SANE/Forensic Nursing Coordinator\, Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center \nDeb Lee—Associate Director\, Safe Harbor of Sheboygan\, Inc. \nCorey Norlander—Sergeant\, Sheboygan Co. Sheriff’s Office \nSheboygan County developed a multi-disciplinary task force to more effectively respond to the needs of human trafficking victims\, and better address the unique risks that traffickers pose to their victims. The panel of presenters will share how they identified the need for a task force in their community\, what challenges and successes they have encountered so far\, and provide some suggestions for how to start a similar initiative in your community. \nRSVP is due by Wednesday\, August 17.
