Galveston Community Support Group – J-Day Event

J-Day is a day when J-1 visa participants come together in their communities around the U.S. to celebrate and share cultural diversity and American customs. Galveston students you are invited to join all exchange students, employers and sponsors working in Galveston Island, Texas to celebrate J-Day August 1st, eat, play & give! See you there!

Event is taking place from 2:00pm – 8:00pm.

Transportation from Gaido’s to Schlitterbahn is provided starting at 1:30pm. Dinner will be provided by Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Please bring a canned food item to donate to Texas City Food Bank.

Timeline:

1:30 PM- Pick up and transportation to the park. Pick up behind Gaido’s Restaurant

2:00PM- Check In. Each sponsor to provide T-shirts for their participants to wear

2:15PM- Collecting canned goods from participants to be donated to Food Bank

2:30 PM- Cleaning local parks

3:30 PM- Walk to Schlitterbahn from the parks (10min walk)

4:15 PM- Dinner at Schlitterbahn Waterpak

5:15 PM- Trivia game with prizes

5:45 PM- Splash at Schlitterbahn Waterpark

8:00PM- Pick up and transportation back to Gaido’s Restaurant
